The Parish Council awards grants in accordance with its powers under Section 137 (S137) of the Local Government Act 1972.  The awards should be made by the Council in the interests of the area and its inhabitants and should benefit them in a manner commensurate with S137 Budget.

The Parish Council meets twice every financial year (July 2018 and January 2019) to consider its S137 grant awards. The Parish Council have set the total fund for 2018-2019 S137 grants at £12,324.

For this year, 2018-2019, please be aware of these key dates:

The first grant application round will be considered in July 2018:

o   25 June 2018                            - Closing date for Grant Application Forms

o   10 July 2018                             - Parish Council meeting to agree grant awards

o   14 August 2018                         - Grant award payments list approved

The second grant application round will be considered in January 2019:

o   17 December 2018                    - Closing date for Grant Application Forms

o   January 2019 (exact date TBA)  - Parish Council meeting to agree grant awards

o   February 2019 (exact date TBA)  - Grant award payments list approved

An update on previous year, 2017/18, S137 Grant fund awards

During the 2017/18 grant period, 32 organisations have received grants ranging from £113.31 to £600.00 and totalling £12,000.

The Parish Council received a total of 47 applications totalling over £30,000.
