Binfield Parish Council - Parish Office closing for Christmas....and beyond!    20 December, 2017

On Thursday 21 December the Binfield Parish Office will close its doors to the public for the Christmas break…. and won’t reopen to the public at all…. At least not in its current format!

As many of you will know, in 2017 we obtained planning permission for an extension to create more office accommodation and a small community space.  The project is due to start early in the New Year (final timings yet to be decided) so the parish office team are moving out to temporary accommodation.

Our new address will be Lexham House, Forest Road, Binfield, RG42 4HP where we have rented an office.   We will keep our same telephone number – 01344 454602 and there will be no change to our email address (binfieldparish.council@btinternet.com) and our Facebook/Twitter remain unaffected.

The move will take us a few days, so we expect to be back up and running by Monday 8 January 2018 and will not be available in person or by telephone, until then, but email will be accessible.  Please do pop by to Lexham House from January – whether it’s to pick up some brown bags for your garden waste, report an issue or concern, or find out about parish facilities.  Parish meetings will continue unaffected by moving to Binfield Library.  The first meeting of 2018 will take place on Tuesday 9 January 2018 at 8pm and is open to the public.

Closure of Parish Office car park

Please note, the car park at the Parish Office will remain open as long as possible but this will also be closing when the contractors move in.

We expect to be back in the newly opened Parish Office by September 2018 but will publish regular updates in the Beacon, on our webpage and Facebook.   The new facility will accommodate all our employees, have a better meeting room (which will be available for bookings) and space to accommodate the Neighbourhood Policing team when they are in the parish.

In addition, we are planning to open the community space as a lively area that can be booked by groups for activities as well as provide a café facility serving users of the space or those visiting the park.  Expressions of Interest from community-orientated individuals/groups to run the new community space should be submitted by Friday 26 January 2018 by email ParishClerk@BinfieldPC.onmicrosoft.com and further details can be found at www.binfieldparishcouncil.org.uk.

We will provide more details on the new community space as it progresses!
