Burglaries across Bracknell borough - appeal for witnesses    12 October, 2017

Thames Valley Police is urging residents to ensure their homes are secure and be vigilant following a recent spate of burglaries across the North Ascot and Bracknell areas.

The past few weeks has seen a spate of linked burglaries across the borough with offenders breaking into homes in Binfield village; Priestwood, Garth, North Ascot, Chavey Down, Bullbrook; and the Whitegrove area of Warfield.

The offenders appear to strike during the early evening, targeting homes that have been left in darkness and have looked unoccupied. Once inside the offenders have then made an untidy search throughout the homes stealing smaller items such as jewellery, cash, bank cards, smart phones and computer tablets, that would easily fit in a small bag or even a pocket.

Bracknell Neighbourhood Inspector, Dave Bryan is urging residents to be vigilant and to report anything suspicious they see in their neighbourhoods: “If anyone may have witnessed any of the burglaries or seen anyone acting suspicious in the area at the time, call the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number on 101. If you don’t want to speak directly to police you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court”.
